Editorial purpose

AnswerCanvas exists to make calculations understandable, not just to produce a number. Editorial content should explain what a result means, what assumptions affect it, how the underlying formula works, and when a qualified professional should review the output before it's used for an important decision.

Authorship and review

Calculator formulas and accompanying explanations are drafted and reviewed in-house against primary sources - published formulas, standards documents, current government rate schedules and thresholds, and recognized reference material for the relevant field (finance, health, engineering, construction, and so on). Where a topic involves periodically changing figures (tax brackets, contribution limits, insurance rate structures), the explanation states that the figures are illustrative and should be checked against the current official source.

Content standards

• Use clear language without hiding important assumptions.
• Separate educational information from professional advice, and say so explicitly where a topic could be mistaken for one.
• Avoid unsupported claims, exaggerated certainty, or fabricated references.
• Prioritize formulas, examples, limitations, and practical interpretation over generic filler text.
• Update pages when formulas, laws, standards, references, or product behavior materially change.

Advertising separation

Editorial content should not be changed to mislead users, manipulate search engines, or obscure sponsored or advertising relationships. Monetization must not override accuracy, safety, or transparency, and advertising placements are visually distinguishable from calculator inputs, results, and editorial explanations.
